In November 2013 my grandmother, Elizabeth Ross, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She left her grand children a sum of money to do with as they pleased and in my wallet it was only good for one thing: booking some studio time and releasing new music. “Half of the Hurt” is a collection of songs that I wrote over the course of 2-3 years during a transitional time in my life. In the late spring of 2015 I decided to go out on a limb, leave Victoria and work with musicians I had never met, record in studios I had never been to, and travel to a little island I had never set foot on (Bowen). I am beyond proud of the adventure and process of making this EP, and I am extremely grateful to all the love and care Winston and all the fabulous players contributed to my vision. I love songwriting in all forms, and although I’ve jumped genres with my indie/pop group, LABS (www.LABS.band), it is important to me that I share these songs and take it back to the basics of Lindsay Bryan. This is for Nana Betty, my family, my friends, myself and for you. Enjoy!
